Never transmitted; removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data: local games in progress and results against the computer, settings (language, sound, music, interface options), the "Remove ads" purchase state, and a device key used to decrypt paid packs you have bought.
| What | When | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| The display name you type and, where applicable, the room code | Only if you play an online match (private room or random matchmaking) | To match you and show your name to the other players in the game | Performance of the service you request (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Google Play or Apple App Store purchase identifiers, product id, and your device's public key | When buying, installing, updating or restoring a paid pack | To verify the purchase and deliver the content you paid for | Contract (art. 6(1)(b)) |
| IP address, timestamp and requested resource (web server logs) | When playing online, downloading packs or fetching the catalogue | Service operation and security | Legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)) |
The online display name is whatever you type — it need not be your real name and is not linked to any account. There is no sign-up or login: we never ask for your email, phone number or Google account. If the name you choose is not publishable, the server replaces it with a random friendly one.
Boxed In has no leaderboard or ranking: we do not store match results on the server.
Google Play (Android) and the Apple App Store (iPhone and iPad) process purchases; we never see your name, email or payment details, only a purchase identifier we can verify.
Google AdMob serves ads in the free version and may process advertising identifiers and device information to show and measure ads — see Google's privacy policy and about AdMob. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland you will be asked for consent to personalised advertising when you first open the game, and you can change it later. Declining is fine — ads continue but are not personalised, and the game is unaffected. You can also reset or limit your advertising ID in Android settings. Buying "Remove ads" stops ads entirely.
On iPhone and iPad the system will additionally ask for permission through the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt before Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) can be used. Declining is fine — ads continue but are not personalised, and the game is unaffected. You can change your mind in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
We use no analytics, social or tracking SDKs.
Online matches: the display name and room exist only in server memory while the match is active, and are removed when it ends or the room expires. Purchases: while you keep the purchased content and for applicable tax and accounting periods. Server logs: a short period, for diagnostics and security.
You may exercise access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability, and withdraw consent at any time, by writing to hola@1127soft.es. To erase local data, uninstall the app or clear its data in Android settings. Since we keep neither matches nor names once a room has ended, nothing remains to delete on our server beyond the record of your purchase, which we keep so we can restore it to you. You may also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
Boxed In is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Our server is located in Spain. Google (payments and advertising) and Apple (payments) may process data outside the EEA under the safeguards described in their own policies.
If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you inside the app.
